Christopher Kelly

Christopher Kelly is currently Director, News innovation, Topics and Features at NJ Advance Media, the parent company for the Newark Star-Ledger and NJ.com. From 2000 to 2012, he served as chief film critic of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram; and beginning in 2006 he was named writer-at-large for Texas Monthly, where he wrote the long-running "Hollywood, TX" until 2013, as well as long-form features on Fantastic Fest, the Miss Texas pageant, and the two men who sued Texas for the right to marry. Kelly is a novelist, editor and critic whose work has appeared in Texas Monthly, The New York Times, Slate, Salon, The Boston Globe and numerous other publications. His first novel, A Push and a Shove (2007), was published by Alyson Books and won the Lambda Literary Foundation Award for Best Debut Novel. His new novel, The Pink Bus, was published by Lethe Press in June 2016. Kelly was born in 1974 in Staten Island, New York and graduated from Dartmouth College. Kelly lives in New Jersey with his husband, Neritan Xhaferi, and their son Edward. His favorite movies, in no particular order, are All That Jazz, A Hard Day's Night, The Silence of the Lambs and 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days.
